Abbie Decker Rucker is from Mountain View, Arkansas and has been practicing law in Little Rock since 2002. She attended the University of Arkansas for her undergraduate and legal education. She served as an intern clerk for the Honorable Robert T. Dawson, U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas and the Arkansas Attorney General. Her primary areas of practice are employment law, business law, product liability and commercial litigation. She has a passion for helping clients understand and navigate employment laws and regulations so that they can focus on operating their businesses. Abbie works closely with owners and management teams on a wide variety of issues, including employee hiring, discipline, terminations, separation agreements, handbooks, benefits, such as 401(k) and insurance, non-competition covenants, contracts, policies, DOL and ICE investigations and EEOC charges and compliance with state and federal laws (FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, ACA, ADA, ADEA, ACRA, FCRA, USERRA, ERISA, OSHA, IRCA and Form I-9 requirements). She conducts supervisor and human resources training and internal compliance audits. In addition to her employment law practice, Abbie serves her clients in a general counsel capacity and is involved in strategic planning, general operations, drafting policies and contracts, managing due diligence processes in transactional opportunities, succession and risk management planning and regulatory navigation. She has successfully defended clients in both the state and federal courts of Arkansas as well as government enforcement proceedings.
